I’m ambidextrous – but in a weird way. In other words, I write left-handed but can’t write with the right, I bat and throw right handed but can’t left-handed, I use my right hand for the PC mouse and have difficulty with the left, yet I can sign either left or right handed (I chose right), etc.

Growing up, I loved horses.  I think I checked out almost every horse book the library had. I still love horses and horseback riding.

My nickname “DonnaKat” did not come about because of my love of cats. It came about because my middle name is “Kathleen”. My grandfather nicknamed me “DonnaKat” as a small child – he had pet names for all the grandkids.

I’m of Irish-Cherokee-Choctaw heritage (with a smidgen of French, and probably a few other things). My great-grandfather on my dad’s side came on the immigrant boat from Ireland. I’m Cherokee on dad’s side and Choctaw on mom’s side. So I inherited the fair skin of the Irish, yet the dark hair and high cheekbones of the Native American.

My eyes are three different colors – hazel, blue, and green. Some days one color is more dominant than the other two. My driver’s license and birth certificate lists my eye color as “hazel”.

My first love and ex-fiancée died a few years ago. I hadn’t heard from him since we broke up, then I saw him in the obituaries. It was eerie and strange. He had been living within 40 miles of me all this time, and I never knew it.

I love sports cars, and have owned several of them: a red Firebird, a black Firebird, a red Camaro, a red Mustang, and now a gold Camaro.

I don’t care for mushrooms. I can eat them if need be, but I really don’t like them.

I have eaten squid before. I hated it. It was like chewing on dried rubber bands.

I was at one time a licensed ordained minister. I received my license in 1994, and resigned in 2006.

I'm a certified and licensed ASL interpreter with the State of Missouri. I also hold a Certificate of Proficiency in ASL.

I have astigmatism, and am farsighted. My eyes are also very sensitive to light.

I love to cook – baking especially.

I never had detention in school, but I was suspended once for fighting. Actually, I never threw a punch but was suspended anyway.

I have never been married. I was engaged three times – twice officially, and once unofficially. The last engagement I broke off. It was the first time I had broken off a relationship with someone. The other two relationships were broken off by the other party.

I still have my engagement ring from my first love. The last engagement that I broke off, I gave the ring back because I felt that to be the right thing to do.

I just got my passport in summer of 2006, and went out of the country for the first time last fall. I went with some friends to Montreal, and had the time of my life!

I’m partial to guys with dark hair. Nothing against blondes, but traditionally I’ve never been attracted to them (there have been a few exceptions).

I tell people I’m 5’2”, but really I’m only 5’1 ¾” tall.

I have been flashed before.

I used to smoke, from age 15 to 23. I quit cold turkey.

All of my grandparents have passed away.

I dreamed about 9/11 three months before it happened, and logged it in my dream journal.

I hate black licorice and candy corn.

I am a first degree brown belt in Tae Kwon Do. I was training for black belt when I quit due to personal reasons.

My mom miscarried right before she became pregnant with me. Otherwise I might not be here (or I might have been male).

I am afraid of heights, and am also somewhat claustrophobic – especially in large crowds. I chalk it up to being so short – most everybody is taller than me, and it makes me uncomfortable.

I am not Trinitarian, but a oneness Pentecostal.

I hate spiders, and am a total arachnophobiac.

I injured my right hand a few years ago, and had to have surgery. As a result, it stiffens up and sometimes I have a hard time signing. I have even considered changing my dominant hand to the left.

I took a year of French in Junior High, but it didn’t stick with me.

I took piano lessons when I was in my 20’s, but it didn’t stick.

I absolutely love to play computer games!

My main sweet tooth weakness is ice cream. I could eat it every day!

I never learned how to swim.

I experimented with drugs when I was younger – marijuana and cocaine in particular. Thank God I got my head screwed on straight and didn't continue doing it!!

I was born and raised in St. Louis and have lived in the area my entire life, yet the first time I went up in the Arch was last summer of 2006. I was volunteer interpreting, and it was one of the "perks" of my job.

I lost 30 lbs. doing the Weight Watchers Points Program.

I can’t read binary…yet it fascinates me.

My favorite fiction books are the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

I was horridly afraid of the dark as a child, and didn’t completely outgrow it until my late teens to early twenties.

I am allergic to mold.

I have never owned a foreign car.

I know how to drive a car with manual transmission, and actually prefer them over automatic transmission cars. The car I own right now has a manual transmission.

My mother named me “Donna” after the actress Donna Reed.

I firmly and completely believe in the supernatural realm.

I don’t believe being a Christian automatically means have to be or have to vote Republican. I don’t like it when one Christian judges another person’s salvation on which political party they belong/don’t belong to, or who they voted for. It infuriates me!

I still own a few of the toys I had when I was about three years old. I also have the dress my mother brought me home from the hospital in.

I don’t like to drink coffee without Coffee Mate flavored creamer.

My favorite season is autumn, and my favorite month of the year is October.

I have no sisters. My older brother is four years older than me, and my younger brother is ten years younger than me. Both of them are now married with kids.

I used to be Certified in Infant and Adult CPR, but I was too lazy to renew my certification.

I took Archery for one semester of college.

I have a high tolerance for caffeine and alcohol...I  think....maybe. :-)

My parents let me drink coffee as a child.

I have never gotten a pedicure (see next item).

I am very ticklish, all over…particularly my feet.

I have a hard time sleeping when there’s total silence in a room.

I don’t snore.

I prefer baths to showers.

Despite the fact I was called a ‘touch me not’ as a child, in fact I do love to cuddle.

I had a bad case of the chicken pox at six years old. I was covered from head to toe.

One of my favorite movies is, “The Color Purple”. I always cry at the end of that movie.

My best friend in high school was Korean, and she was the one that introduced me to Oriental cuisine.

I never went to my Junior or Senior High School prom. I did go to Homecoming one year, but was bored with it.

I have never gone to any of my high school reunions.

I don’t tan very easily.

Unlike most women, I absolutely love “The Three Stooges”.

I still have my old vinyl records from when I was a little kid.

I was made fun of as a child for the gap in my teeth. Because of that, I was always very self-conscious and afraid to smile, which was often mistaken for me being unhappy. I finally decided to do something about it, and got braces in December of last year (2004). They were just removed in September 2006. It was one of the best investments of my life!

I was deathly afraid of dentists and dental offices up until a couple years ago. I finally broke my phobia by facing my fears. I still don’t like them, but the fear is now bearable.

I almost cut the tip of my finger off as a baby, and I have a scar to prove it.

I have never changed a diaper.

I’m bilingual – English and ASL. I'd like to learn Spanish as a third language. I’ve always wanted to learn Hebrew.

One of my biggest pet peeves is impolite, rude, and inconsiderate people.

I’ve had my palm read before.

I had never been anesthetized until I had my wisdom teeth extracted in Jan. 2004. I had never had surgery before, up until I had my hand operation in 2002.

I have a hard time giving blood due to the fact that they can never locate a vein in my arm from which to draw.

I love leather, but don’t care for fur…except on animals.

I don’t understand all the fuss about Brad Pitt.

I think Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are one of the most beautiful couples I have ever seen.

My dream since childhood has always been to visit Europe. I have yet to fulfill that dream.

I am fascinated by Astronomy, Geology, Anthropology, and Archeology.

When I was little, I dreamed of becoming a jockey, a rock star, and an archeologist. I have yet to see any of those dreams come to fruition.

I’m on the fence with regards to getting married. Some days I want a family of my own more than anything else in the world, and other days I bask in my independence and thank my lucky stars I’m single. This worries me, because I’m afraid I will either make my decision to get married and have kids too late in life, or settle for a life with someone I’m not really in love with, and become miserable.

I hate it when people try to make me feel inferior because a) I’m single; b) I’m a woman; c) I’m a single woman; d) I don’t have kids. I hate it when people try to make me come up with excuses as to why I live the way I do, as if something is wrong with me and I’m not ‘normal’.

I hate being fixed up on blind dates or being fixed up with someone you don’t know or have never met in person. Being ‘fixed up’ feels as if it’s forced or something, unlike when someone sees you and is interested. You spend the entire evening wondering if that person thinks you’re hot, or if you’re the ugliest thing they’ve ever laid eyes on. It’s a very uncomfortable feeling, and very humiliating. It’s like, ‘here, fix me up because I’m too dumb, ugly, etc. to find somebody on my own’. It’s different if they already know you and ask to be introduced – that’s okay, usually. But blind dates are the pits!

I prefer walking barefoot over wearing shoes. As a child, I got a lot of bee stings on the bottoms of my feet due to walking outside without my shoes on.

I love all kinds of music, and I really don’t have a favorite color. It just depends on what kind of a mood I’m in that day.

I have never been able to roll my “r’s” on my tongue.

I can curl my tongue, wiggle my ears, flare my nostrils and raise one eyebrow.

I can’t whistle very well. It got better after the braces, but it's still embarrassing.

I have never bowled or golfed in my life.

Growing up, the teacher had concerns that I might be diabetic because I was thirsty all the time.

I’ve been known to eat raw turnips on occasion…but not in quite a number of years.

I had a horse step on my foot once. I had a busted toe as a result.

I never owned a cat until after I moved out of the house. I have never known my parent’s house to be without at least one dog. However, since I moved out of the house, I have never owned a dog.

I had a crush on Speed Racer when I was a kid (yes, I know he’s a cartoon character!).

I have never bought a new car. All of the cars I have purchased have been pre-owned.

As a general rule, I don’t like formal occasions: weddings, funerals (obviously), class reunions, etc., so I try my best to avoid them.
